Hey everyone, I am brand new hear and am so glad I found a forum that will be dedicated to this game. I hadn't seen a thread about build orders yet but thought it would be cool to start one. One build I am toying with (and by toying with I mean I have done 2-3 games with it and haven't found it talked about on Waypoint) is a Forge one base play with mass marines. What I am roughly starting with is: 1. Purchase lvl 1 rolling eco 2. Generator 3. Supply 4. Supply 5. Marine - using the two start marines to gather close supply. Once local base supplies are done then take three marines to closes power point to capture 6. Upgrade generator 7. Supply 8. Jackrabbit to scout 9. Marine 10. Marine/upgrade one supply pad - send marines to second closest power supply point to cap, then go for power laying about on the map. 11. Barracks 12. Build mini base at closest point 13. Upgrade Infantry one - continue to pump marines out of both bases 14. Upgrade Grenade through 15. Upgrade to tech level 2 16. Build Air pad for 1-2 Nightengales 17. Build Supply 18. Upgrade third marine upgrade 19. Upgrade infantry level 2. By this point if you continually pump marines, capture supply points and move around the map you should have great map control and maybe even poke around your enemy to harass as your building up your marine force. Again, this is a ROUGH build and I know it can be much improved, this is just what I have done over the last several games and I have liked what it has done. Sometimes you can win with just 60/80 pop if your enemy did a poor job scouting. If they are prepared then you can expand easily and continue to upgrade. Thoughts? What are your favorite builds? How could this be improved? Do you believe HW2 single base play can be viable currently?

One base build works well because Because the more supply pads you have the less effective each one is. Starting off in a one base build and be aggressive with it is a good strat.

I felt silly that I didn't do more of this sooner (and by sooner I mean within the first couple days last week of the game being released lol) as my Star Craft 2 days always had me taking my "natural" as quickly as I could for good macro play. However in HW2 I find that one base play supplies sufficient macro for well into the mid game (build depending of course) otherwise I end up with a huge bank and then can't utilize it properly.

Yeah, there is a balance that will take some time to find. At the moment I think if you want to tech it's better to stay on one base for a bit. I could be wrong I havn't had much time in ones yet, but that's what it seems to me at the moment.
